Psychosocial group work

Exchange, mutual support, new social skills

Survivors of sexualised violence often live very isolated lives. Psychosocial group work is a successful support approach that enables the women and girls to experience community within a trusted group. They can try out methods of self-help and self-care, exchange ideas in a protected environment, and support each other in various ways. This obviously helps the person receiving the support. And it also helps the person giving it, since they gain an experience of self-efficacy, which has an empowering effect.
