Integrated approach

Interdisciplinary support at individual and societal levels

The consequences of sexualised wartime violence are far-reaching – for the affected women and for the societies they live in, and also for future generations. In order to best support war-traumatised women, medica mondiale has developed concepts and methods that are designed to consider the individual histories of women and their social surroundings, as well as general social and political conditions. This integrated approach enables long-term, sustainable change to be achieved, survivors to be empowered, and future violent acts to be prevented.

Implementation at more than one level

In its projects together with partner organisations, medica mondiale offers integrated and interdisciplinary support for affected women:

At the same time, medica mondiale carries out advocacy and public awareness work on the issue of sexualised wartime violence – in the project countries and in Germany, too. All of these different approaches share the same aims: providing the best possible support to traumatised women and girls, as well as asserting their rights.
