Study on long-term consequences of war rape in Kosovo
25 years ago, in June 1999, the Kosovo war ended. Tens of thousands of women and girls were raped during this war. To this day, the violence continues to shape the lives of those affected. And there is still little data and considerable gaps in research, particularly on the long-term consequences of sexualised violence. The women's rights organisation medica mondiale, together with its Kosovan partner organisation Medica Gjakova, has therefore conducted a comprehensive study on the physical, psychological and social long-term consequences of war rape in Kosovo.
